This game is played on grass courts with racquets and hand-made balls. It is played by two or four players who hit the ball back and forth over a net that divides the court. In singles, we have one player on each side of the court. In doubles, we have two players on each side of the court. Points are scored when

2. Table Tennis

It is also called Ping Pong. In singles, we have one player on each side and in doubles, we have two players on each side. The players hit a lightweight ball back and forth across a table using a small, round bat. The game is played on a hard table divided by a net. 3. Kabbadi
Answer:
In this game, we have seven players in each team. There are two teams who occupy the opposite halves of a small field and take turns in sending a player into the other half. In order to win points, the player has to touch or wrestle with the players of the opposing team and then try to return to his own half. The player has to hold his breath and chant Kabbadi’ the whole time when he is in his opponents’ half. It is a rough and tough game.

4. Kho-Kho

This game is played by two teams consisting of 12 players but only 9 players take the field. One team sits/kneels in the middle of the court in a row with adjacent members facing opposite direction. The runners take to the field, 3 at a time and the team that takes the shortest time to tag/tap all the opponents in the field, wins.

5. Hockey
Answer:
In this game, two teams play against each other by dribbling and passing the ball into the opponents goal using a hockey stick which is shaped ‘I’ and is made of wood or fiber glass. The ball is small and hard. The ground is rectangular and the same can be played on a muddy or grassy ground. There are eleven players on the pitch and there are goalkeepers at either ends.

6. Football
Answer:
Each team consisting of eleven players has possession of the ball. The ball is big but not so heavy. The team tries to kick the ball down the field running with the ball and scoring points by crossing the goal line. The other team also consisting of eleven players tries to stop the opponent team from crossing the goal line and making points.

7. Badminton

It is played in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. You have one player on each side of the court or two players on each side of the court. It is an indoor game. A badminton racquet and a shuttlecock is used to play the game. It is played on a rectangular court with a net in the centre. Players score points by striking the shuttlecock with their racquets so as to pass it to the opponents’ half. If the shuttlecock falls, points are got.

I found myself in a grand palace. I was the king of an unknown land. I was seated on my throne sipping a drink and giving out orders. My subordinates appeared to be scared of me. They were doing as they were told. A young man was not obeying my orders.

I warned him but he ignored me. In a fit of anger, I threw my drink at him. This act brought me back to reality. My father was shouting at me for throwing my glass of milk at him. I told him what I was dreaming. We had a hearty laugh.

The story ‘Daydreams’ gives us an insight as to what could happen if one daydreams without any purpose. The story revolves around a couple who daydreams about making a lot of money. 10. This is a bitter-gourd. It is a vegetable which is bitter in taste. The outer skin of the bitter gourd is rough. It is green in colour. Its juice is given as medicine to people suffering from diabetes. Stuffed bitter-gourd is yummy. You should also try it.

11. The photograph shows rocks in the form of steps. They are like hard black stones, sloping down a mountain. During the rainy season, one can enjoy the beautiful sight of waterfalls, the water gushing down the slopes. It is also home to small creatures. One enjoys sitting on them when it is dry.

12. The hard, small ball, also known as the season ball is used to play cricket. I like bowling and I practise with it while playing at the nets. The bowlers like to rub it on their trousers to remove the shine and spin it more.
The small green grapes are sweet and sometimes sour. I like to keep two or three in my mouth and enjoy the taste. It is good for health. I also enjoy eating black grapes and also grape juice.

13. The picture of colourful balloons in different shapes and sizes. It looks so colourful and beautiful. How wonderful to send them flying in the air. Balloons are released on happy occasions. Children love to burst them.

The big black buffalo is also called bull. Its bellow is loud and harsh, which can frighten young and old. It is a strong animal. It feeds on hay. It is a wild animal like a large cow, with horns that curve upwards.

16. The picture of a chimney emitting smoke, such chimneys are seen in factories. The smoke causes irritation to the eyes, and also the throat. The smoke causes air pollution. It also makes the sky look black and dull.

17. The chilies are green and red in colour. It is very pungent, but it adds taste to the food. The strong aroma can make you sneeze especially when it is used as a food flavour for seasoning. My mother fills the chillies with masala and makes delicious pickles.

18. The beautiful sunset scene looks glorious. The rays of the sun are reflected in the water. The twilight sky fills you with a cool mind. I like to go to the sea side in the evenings to watch the sunset and the beautiful panorama.

19. The cactus is a thick flushy plant that grows in many hot, dry parts of the world. Cactus have no leaves but are covered in prickles or sharp thorns. Have you heard of aloe-vera products – creams, gels, ointments? All kinds of herbal mediums are prepared with cactus leaves. Not so beautiful to look at but it has many medicinal properties.
